Dr. Turner provides science based information, as well as practical knowledge and experience, to motivate her patients to make the necessary changes in diet that will allow for the realization of his or her personal goals.

Dr. Turner’s intention with the Dietary Counseling Program is to improve a patient’s health and quality of life through dietary education, advice, motivation and accountability. Dr. Turner will discuss with you, as her patient, realistic expectations based on age, health diagnosis, genetic and cultural factors, motivation level, and overall willingness to make necessary modifications in diet.

Dr. Turner provides individualized dietary counseling which will provide you, as the patient, important insight into food-related illnesses, and education regarding how various nutrients (protein, carbohydrate, fat, alcohol) can affect illnesses or obesity. This program is tailored to meet the treatment needs of each patient, and includes meal planning and education about healthy eating habits. Dr. Turner recognizes the benefit of individualizing nutritional care and that a “one-size-fits-all” approach to modifying eating habits is not be effective.
